Data visualization has been a major part of my professional life since 2011, and absolutely critical to my research and development activities in software and the scientific literature. If my time in and around the medical product industry has taught me anything, data visualization is the key to consuming and interpreting the vast amount of data produced in clinical trials, especially at the pace in which the medical product industry operates. The are far too many data to review, too many analyses to perform, and the need to turn findings into actionable outcomes quickly is paramount. This is why my day-to-day work is so rewarding: I help others achieve insights from their data that they may not have obtained otherwise. Data visualization allows us to focus on the stories our data are trying to tell us!
